Correct! A list used by uBlock Origin is targeting specifically the .fa-ad {
display: none !important;
} into the webpage. We usually do not change icon names to circumvent ad-blockers, for some reasons including:

There seems to be an issue with icon
fas fa-ad
.I first noticed it on one of my sites and then I went to the Icon Gallery and saw the same thing there. There seems to be an injected stylesheet for this icon and the rule is defined as this:
