Enhanced Character Frame becomes unclickable

Randomly, parts of the Character and Pets frames will become unclickable. In the case of the Character frame this means that I cannot switch to the Titles or Equipment Bar, and or click/view any of the stats, while in the Pets frame I am unable to select a pet or companion.

The snapshot below shows that, when broken, the Titles button is not getting highlighted when hovering over with the cursor and will also not respond to clicks. The same happens with the Equipment Manager button:

The next screenshot shows the same issue as above, but in the case of selecting a mount. When this happens, I am unable to select, view and/or spawn any mount/companion using the character frame.

I have tried disabling all addons, leaving only ElvUI (and extensions) enabled, to no avail. Only toggling all addons (including ElvUI) off/on, seems to fix the issue.

Is there any way I can debug this to identify the issue? I have BugSack, but it doesn't seem to catch any errors when this happens.

I have no idea how all the sudden this issue has arised. No updates have been pushed to the repo in over 2 years, addons have no been touched in the same timeframe. Either this is a third-party addon messing with it, or your server has bugged out the character frame with an update.

Are you using any HD interface patches for the wotlk client?
