Fully decouple the vertical and horizontal components, to allow for fully flexible selection of horizontal and vertical components. Currently the combination of vertical and horizontal components are "hardcoded" which makes a combination of vertical-horizontal component that not yet exists difficult. Additionally, if we fully decouple the concepts, it could potentially allow for using different concepts within a single model
