Sorry to ping this issue but I made a fork that adds the ability to use an hotkey: ⌃+⌘+m. Here's the repo: https://github.com/eliseomartelli/MuteUnmuteMic, it's also compiled for Apple Silicon.

Is it possible to create a script i Automator to turn it on/ off and assign a shortcut?
