From Llamageddon: "I see you have already started on custom templates, there is a lot you can do there to make your life easier with multiple creature edits, especially if you have established some stereotypes in your mind for how you want these different creatures/castes to look like and be interacted with.
Another similar thing I found surprisingly useful was trying out "dummy" creatures that were really just there to store materials in a different way from conventional material templates. For specific uses, it gives you even more flexibility in how they can be referenced by functional creatures. It also could make it easier to keep track of, and implement, broad changes in related systems; without losing track of what has been edited where, and how it is all functioning.
I would need to put some time aside and actually learn a bit more about interactions, but if you think it might be helpful I could probably at least set up some examples of what I am thinking of, for you to decide if it might be the sort of thing you are after in this scenario."
