Hi @nichannah I'm not sure this assert does what is intended:

libaccessom2/atm/src/forcing.F90

Line 140 in b77aecd

call assert(trim(filename) /= '', "File not found: "//filename)

filename_for_year doesn't check for file existence and won't return an empty string, so I think this assert does nothing.
