Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

As of now, we do not follow the recommended project structure by Gradle.

Describe the solution you'd like

Refactor the template to use the standard layout recommended by Gradle here: https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/part1_gradle_init.html

It is partly done. The project now uses a version catalog by default.
