TODO: detail updating submodules, better bullets format After updating submodules:

  • Remove the previous bundle from deps/:

    $ rm -rf deps/libgit2

  • Copy recursively the submodule folder into deps/:

    $ cp -r libgit2 deps

  • Remove .git:

    $ cd deps/libgit2
$ rm -rf .git

  • Git doesn't ignore already-tracked files, NPM does.
    Remove all .gitignore files under deps/libgit2:

    $ rm `find | grep -E '/\.gitignore'`

    and ignore the build directory:

    $ echo /build/ > .gitignore

  • Stage the changes for commit using -A

$ git add -A libgit2 deps/libgit2
