It seems that if plotting is toggled at any point using Gnuplot with an open PDL session, each multithreaded spawned process for the wind calculation throws an error:
(in cleanup) PDL::Graphics::Gnuplot: subproc died.
This should be confirmed that multithreading is the culprit, and a solution should be sought to correct or suppress this warning.
